The Loved One

Hey guys! So I've had some pretty exciting news under my bonnet (baby talk - thanks Eloise) that I've been dying to share these past few weeks with regards to our lingerie party (which is THIS Saturday! Hope you're all as excited as we are!!). Anyhow, to continue the wonderful tradition of having friends & inspiring creative folks take a stab at our windows while Katie is away, we have probably the most perfect person to tackle our window merchandising just in time for the knicker party on Saturday.

I'm certain alot of you are familiar with Hannah Metz from the supremely beautiful blog Hannah and Landon (AND her lovely vintage etsy shop AND beautiful illustrations AND I could go on and on because this girl's creativity seems to know no bounds). Anyways, if you are NOT familiar with her, prepare to get sucked into her world and find yourself with a huge girl crush, the kind of girl crush that could potentially make things a bit awkward when you finally meet this week-end, but um yeah. Maybe that's just me.

Since she packs loads of time working as a vintage curator for various companies under her belt (see how I resisted what would have been a facile pun with garter belt there?), it was no surprise when Hannah announced on her blog that she & her partner Elvia were going to start a vintage inspired lingerie company. I think I heard a collective "finally!" when I heard the news. Nothing is more exciting than the prospect of sexy, frilly, girly, romantic underthings filling ones drawers that at the same time are not prissy, costumey, over the top or flimsy. Womanly undergarments for women. I am not lying when I say I will probably want one of EVERYTHING and will try my best to make at least some of them work as outerwear.

I just so happened to read about what is to become The Loved One just as Katie and I were planning our little panty party and through emails back and forth Hannah mentioned she would be in town for Thanksgiving (though living in Brooklyn, Hannah is originally from Ottawa) which just so happened to be the week-end of our party. Don't you just love it when the stars align like that? Can you really argue when the universe is obviously trying it's darndest to get us all into lovely bloomers & brassieres?

Anyways, it's such a huge honour to have someone so obviously enamoured with vintage underthings and who is continuing the tradition to come and merchandise our windows. We're just bursting with excitement (we're busting out, actually - ah, I couldn't resist this one!), and we hope you guys will come by and check out Hannah's window magic & our romantic relics!
