I used to think that my infatuation with leopard-print was going to be short-lived and a flight of fancy. But man has it ever stuck!! I seriously have a leopard-print EVERYTHING. I've just found it to be the perfect print to throw in with whatever else you're wearing. It goes with everything (in a clashes with everything kind of way, which is awesome). This top is vintage and I think is what started in all...so yeah. It is now to blame for my leopard print coat, shoes, bags, shorts & pants and everything everything.
These shorts by Covet (99$ at Dalhousie) are a new purchase, but I know they're gonna be a wardrobe staple for me. They are perfectly high-waisted (pretty much a must for me), and casual enough to wear everyday. I've worn them a few times with tights already but am DYING for this weather to get its act together so I can wear them silk to skin finally!!
Denim vest. Can't go wrong. I recently bought a similarly cut vest in leather (or erm, rather faux-leather), and sleeveless vests like this are my "put a bird on it". Just put a denim vest on it. Outfit magic!!
Peeking out from under my vest is another must-have for me. Vintage (or almost) t-shirts. When I don't feel like putting too much energy into an outfit, a great t-shirt, jeans & boots always wins. My collection is getting a little ridiculous, but I love them all so much. I'm holding up 2 of my recent faves - on the left is a Species by the thousands from a few years ago, and on the right is a recent addition from our trip to California.

I swear Katie and I did not plan this, but we both showed up with a great bra from Brachic as one of our 10 items. My favourite purchase from them over the years has been this perfect black lace bra. It is just the perfect foundation upon which to build a coyly-sexy outfit - peeking out ever so slightly from a V-neck dress, or from the sides in a tank with large arm holes, it is simply the bra I had been looking for my whole life.
This is also something I purchased in California, from the lovely Hannah's The Loved One shop. This is now my third vintage Dooney & Bourke bag, I guess that makes me officially a "collector" of them now??
You shouldn't be surprised that the Ursa Minor leather leggings made it on here. I am literally wearing them today as I type this. We have a few pairs at both shops (140$).
Lipstick! I honestly probably have at least 3 tubes on the go at all times - just so that I can definitely have one with me when I need a touch-up. In my coat, in my bag, at the desk at work. It's a little obsessive. But wearing lipstick is one of the things I have really embraced as I've grown older. In my early 20s I didn't really wear it cos I never felt I could pull it off. But now that I'm a grown-ass woman, it just works. I'm always looking for great new recommendations, so if you have one to share, please do!
This Christmas Katie & I decided to treat ourselves with something really, really special for all our hard work. So we each got ourselves an Arielle de Pinto necklace. When I'm wearing the aforementioned jeans/boots/t-shirt combo, nothing makes me feel actually dressed up more than this necklace.
What are some of your must-haves?
