Struck by Cadence: Pt. 2

The Arboretum Festival took place yesterday and it made my fangirl dreams come true. For real. You may remember this post from a while back that I had written about a trip to Montreal that involved getting starstruck by polaris nominated rapper Cadence Weapon. Well folks, I redeemed myself and Regine and Emily were there to witness it. After we danced our glorious Victoire hearts out to his earliest and newest rhymes, we were lucky enough to head backstage to meet the man himself and his DJ, Adam Wilcox.
From left to right: Emily, Adam Wilcox, Shaya and Rollie Pemberton aka Cadence Weapon! You can't tell in the picture but he was wearing a matching leopard print cap to go with his shirt. Now that's what I call steez at its finest.   Photo courtesy of the lovely Gabrielle Doiron.

His set was the festival highlight for us. I still haven't gotten over it how much of a great performer he is! Rollie truly had us all in the palm of his hands ready to sing/yell along or raise our fists in the air.
Shirley and Anthony attended the festival yesterday. They didn't stay for Cadence Weapon but enjoyed themselves nonetheless!
In all honesty, the entire festival was a blast and made me proud to call Ottawa home. The food, the musical lineup, the video projections and installations blew me away. Arboretum's inaugural instalment seemed to be such a success that we at Victoire are already putting out dream caps on and thinking of how the shop could get more involved next year!

This post wouldn't be complete without some more visuals. That being said, here are a couple of looks that would've been totally festival appropriate - especially considering how chilly it was!

Yarn Jumper by Mink Pink ($96) paired with this cozy snake print diamond scarf ($55) in bitter chocolate by Ganni. Both pieces are available at both shops.
Ganni Chocolate Cords ($150), Dagg and Stacey Marcel cardigan (West location only), Marais USA Beatle Boot ($150 - available at both locations) and the Bad Kitty tee ($29 - available at both locations). How can anyone resist a kitty in an eyepatch? There's also a Good Kitty version. Both are custom designed for Victoire by the talented Danica Olders and are available in pink, green and blue.
To wrap this post up, here's the video of one of my favourites he performed last night called Conditioning. Feel free to join my Cadence fan club after listening!
